Open Transition

Delayed Transition
Similar to an open transition, an ATS with a delayed transition disconnects from the primary power source. However, there’s a programmed time delay that can last a few seconds or minutes, depending on equipment settings, before the ATS transfers to the backup or alternate power source to allow for a residual voltage drop. In data centers, delayed transition ATS units can help reduce stress on motor-driven equipment, such as pumps and other thermal management components.
Closed Transition
